Notes, glitches and errata.

Although efforts have been made for Election Run® to offer a smooth, easy experience, even the best laid plans don't always work out, and sometimes expedience requires a line to be drawn and for a project to move onto the next stage.

Such is the case here, and even though the code should work, for whatever reason sometimes glitches occur.

The main one relates to opposition rival character selection, namely occasionaly players might find an opponent duplicates the player's own character, and occasionally a character profile picture won't display. The reasons remain a mystery as the code includes a checker to look for duplication and to rerun the character generator if needed. As for pictures not displaying, I'm not sure why this happens, but suspect it will become more prevalent with the online version compared to offline. Never mind.

It's easy to remedy both situations by refreshing the page and starting again.

In terms of layout, I didn't use any relative dimensions for the CSS, so the display will be more or less the same across systems and screens. This means bigger screens might have more empty space and smaller ones will have less. Occasionally the right-hand game panel with the week's events will drop a level to the next level so it appears below the 'TV screen'. This should be easily fixed by zooming out until they're alongside each other again.

In essence the layout should look more or less like this:

In terms of gameplay, the odds are stacked in the player's favour although I might tweak or change that, and it probably won't be that difficult to suss out how to improve the chance of winning, but hopefully with enough variation built in to merit a few replays.

Character choice is essentially superficial and makes no difference to which lists of events are used to generate their week's actions and events, nor the random generator.

And how the public reacts to an action or an event doesn't mean that's how I'd react.

The game is intended to be politically neutral, within reason.

I only had a look at it on a couple of different browsers and it worked fine so hopefully no issues anywhere else either.

That covers everything that springs to mind for now. Any constructive criticism, tips or advice welcome, by emailing drudeshore@outlook.com

Thanks for playing!
